Do you want to be happier? More effective and really improve your output, results in life and in business? The answer of to cultivate a Growth Mindset.

A growth mindset is the belief that you can develop and improve your abilities and qualities through effort and learning. On the other hand, a fixed mindset is the belief that your abilities and qualities are fixed and can’t be changed.

As a coach and after 21 years of empowering leaders and multi-cultural teams around the world, I’ll say the differentiator between successful people and unsuccessful ones are a combination of a Growth resilient mindset, and environment where opportunities are possible. Most of the success growth mindset players create their own opportunities instead of waiting/expecting them to happen.

Dr. Carrol Dweck (Psychologist and Professor at Stanford University) .and many other recent studies confirm that the power of our most basic beliefs are based on our type of Mindset. Whether conscious or subconscious, they strongly “affect what we want and whether we succeed in getting it.” Much of what we think we understand of our personality comes from our “mindset.” This both propels us and prevents us from fulfilling our potential.

Here are some tips for cultivating a growth mindset and seeing the world as a place full of endless opportunities for growth and development, we can start by:

Reflecting on your thoughts and beliefs: Take some time to think about how you view your own abilities. Do you see them as fixed or as something that can be developed and improved? By becoming aware of your own mindset, you can start to shift towards a growth mindset.

Embracing challenges: A growth mindset encourages us to see challenges as opportunities for learning and growth, rather than threats to our abilities. So next time you’re faced with a challenge, don’t shy away from it! Embrace it and see it as a chance to learn and grow.

Requesting and accepting meaningful feedback: Feedback is crucial, and it can be tough to hear, but it’s a key part of the learning process. It can be your fuel. Instead of seeing feedback as a personal attack or evidence of your limitations, try to view it as a chance to learn and improve.

Finding role models: representation and inspiration in good role models goes a long way. It can propel your results. Surround yourself with people who have a growth mindset. Look for role models who are constantly learning and growing and try to emulate their approach to challenges and setbacks. Who’s your role model? Someone real in your environment, or maybe a well-known person in the world stage? It doesn’t matter. What matters is that he/she/they are a source of true inspiration.

Noticing the difference of using positive language: The words we use can have a huge impact on our mindset. By using positive language, we can help reinforce a growth mindset in ourselves and others. For example, instead of saying “I can’t do this,” try saying “I’m not sure how to do this yet, but I’m willing to learn.”

Cultivating a growth mindset takes energy, time and effort, but it’s totally worth it. By embracing challenges, learning from feedback, and using positive language, you can develop a growth mindset that will serve you well throughout your life. So, let’s get started and embrace the growth mindset!
