Yes, my book is now finally on pre-order stage and I am getting ready to start an exciting Book tour this year to empower women in these four key areas.

WHY? The 4th Industrial Revolution or 4IR is here. While the first three revolutions left us with tremendous advances, this new 4IR is modifying not only what, but how we do things. It will fundamentally change us, as humankind. I believe it’s essential that female brains and feminine power are behind the wheel of this vehicle of change as well, driving these unique developments.

The global challenges we all face today from climate change, population growth, complexity of economic and social systems, to application of Artificial Intelligence and bio-technology, they all require all the hands on the deck, all the talent we can get.

The lack of women in key fields can increase the chance to create a future that lacks inclusion, diversity of thinking and sustainability. This could create tremendous inequality in the world, and ultimately a world that only uses 50% of its population’s potential. I strive at creating the other possibility, a world in which women and men thrive together. For that to happen, we all have a role to play and something to contribute.

The good news is that the sense of urgency in which many leading organizations are addressing this issue is quick and clear. There is a realization that will take a multidisciplinary effort to find new solutions and policies to ensure an inclusive talent pool. This potential includes women who are educated, recruited and promoted in a fair and wise manner.

My book helps women get a hold of tools and strategies that will help them thrive in these environments and change the system.

Let’s look at what the current situation looks like, so we can wisely build the future.

At least half of the world workforce is made up of women. More women gain college and graduate degrees than men. And let’s face it, women represent the largest single economic force in the world. Yet the gender gap in key areas of our societies persists, from politics to education to sports, to STEM fields. This phenomenon is more of a significant problem in STEM fields than in other professions, particularly in high-end, science and math-intensive fields, and clearly in computer science.

Although girls outperform boys in most STEM subjects at entry level, the number of young female students who choose to study STEM falls significantly behind the percentage of men. In many advanced European countries, less than 10% of engineers are women.

Only 24% and even lower percentage of women in technology is predicted by 2024 if nothing is done about it. Tech giants are lacking women. Many of the usual suspects, large companies in the world such as Google, Facebook and many global brands pride themselves on having that number of female employees. In fact, only around 16% of those women actually have jobs in tech within those giants. The European Union’s average of women in tech is 16.7%.

Solutions, tools, new models, success stories and best practices are all part of the book.

I’m proudly presenting my book to corporations, NGOs, tech and bio-tech companies, engineering main players in key industries and world leaders. It0s the result of research over recent years, past experience in the IT world, and experience coaching thousands of women in STEM and leaders in these areas. Engaging, pragmatic view of some of the most necessary measures we need to take to attract, hire and promote women in these key areas. Gender diverse teams will have a better chance to solve the puzzling challenges we face. More under www.gabrielamueller.com
